An explosion at the American Grain Company in Plainview occurred about 8 30 a m Thursday killing one employee and injuring five others, with one in critical condition. The blast started in a tunnel beneath the building and damaged a shed and the nearby elevator. Flames darkened the shed between the two silo sections.
