A severe line of storms with 150000 dollars in damage hit Terrell and surrounding areas. No casualties. heavy rain and hail flooded Fort Worth streets and damaged buildings. Plane plows into car near Columbus killing five

A light airplane crashed onto a car on U S 40 about 17 miles east of Columbus, Ohio, killing five people including Delbert Charles Stiles, 23, and his wife. Three car occupants were injured as weekend crashes across the area totalled 37 deaths.

Pirates in Bahamas Outrun Coast Guard After Marooning

Two shipwrecked pirates and a young woman identified as Barbara Table were marooned on Elbow Cay after their cabin cruiser Honiara ran aground. They commandeered the Muriel II, escaped a U S Coast Guard cutter into Cuban waters, and were picked up by a Coast Guard amphibian plane along with four Pennsylvania fishermen and questioned by authorities. The Bahamian authorities and consuls continued inquiries as the castaways were brought to Nassau for further questioning.

Fugitive In Scurry Murder Case Seized At Brooklyn Pier

Charles Everett Taylor of Mobile Alabama, a fugitive from Texas, was arrested aboard the S S Wacosta by FBI agents. He had a 1956 murder sentence in Scurry County Texas reduced and later paroled, with parole revoked in 1959.

Wind driven plane crash near Buckeye Lake injures eight

A plane piloted by Stiles clipped a power line near Buckeye Lake and crashed onto a car on U.S. 40. In Columbus, Monalee 22, Rita Lyle 20, Jim Vingle 14, and Julia Jacques 38, all residents of Columbus, were among those reported in fair condition at a Columbus hospital along with Dorothy Vingle 49 and John 22 and Linda Armentrout 14. The crash followed a takeoff from Buckeye Lake Airport about 15 minutes earlier as Stiles and his wife searched for friends. The aircraft rolled, struck a power line, and exploded, bursting into flames as bystanders pulled occupants from the vehicle. The scene prompted police and fire response and marked eight other crashes reported across several states in a weekend tally.

A 35-year-old father of four was arrested after his former wife Billie Jean Dansby 29 was killed and her husband David M Dansby 29 was wounded in a drive-in shooting witnessed by their 10-year-old son. The gunman Grady Watson leaped from a car and fired as the couple sat in a car. The bride had divorced Watson last Monday.

Mystery cleared Lake Michigan yields body of Chicago judge

The body of Federal Judge W Lynn Parkinson was recovered from Lake Michigan near the Drake Hotel. Police found no visible signs of violence. Parkinson vanished after leaving the Drake on October 26 and was last seen in a sick and dazed condition.

Young Demos Close Meeting in Houston

The Texas Young Democrats wrapped up their state convention in Houston on a Sunday session ending a weekend of liberal conservative clashes.
