One Survives as B 58 Dives Into Salt Lake

A B 58 Hustler on a cross country flight crashed into Great Salt Lake Utah ILI AFB. Flight engineer Kenneth G Timpson 29 Fort Worth parachuted to safety and saw the jet hit water. Pilot Ray Edwin Ten Hoff 38 and navigator Walter Simon 32 both Fort Worth civilians aboard. Timpson reached shore and rode to Ogden after a night on the beach. The crash was the sixth B 58 lost since production with four crashes and two ground accidents.
