Appeal Delayed Again In Austin
Convicted killer Jack Brown of Shallowater sees further delay as the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals reschedules his hearing from April 14 to May 12. He has been free on appeal for three and a half years since an October 1967 El Paso jury convicted him of killing his parents on April 17, 1967. The bodies were found on the Brown farm near Shallowater and autopsies showed beating deaths. Prior delays, new trials, and appeals have postponed action in the case. Brown was originally sentenced to 13 years in the penitentiary.
