Soviet Moon Mission Possibility Cited by U S Expert

A House subcommittee heard that the Soviet Union could launch a man to the moon with a focused lunar mission. Norman V. Petersen of Edwards AFB said the Soviets might achieve this using earth orbital rendezvous, though the U.S. moon flight remains years away.

Laos Foreign Minister Quinim Pholsena Assassinated

Laotian Foreign Minister Quinim Pholsena was shot and killed outside his Vientiane home after a royal reception. His wife was wounded as unknown attackers struck at 9:15 pm. Pholsena, 48, had joined the neutralist government last June and had ties to the Pathet Lao.
