Timothy Brennan Cambridgeport driver dies after being run over by a stone and granite load on Prince Street Boston. He died before Dr Eliot could reach him.
The Arlington Heights Baptists laid the corner stone of the new church Tuesday afternoon at 3 30 with a large audience. Attendees included Rev J W Brigham Cambridge Rev A E Stembridge Arlington Park Ave Congregational Rev I W Grimes Cambridge Rev C H Watson Arlington Rev A W Lorimer and others. An original Massachusetts Baptist Sunday School Association poem was read and Rev Geo C Lorimer delivered the address. A male quartet sang during ceremonies and closing prayers followed.
Southbridge reports a brutal double murder near the Fishdale factory area last night as John King and his wife were slain by their son Peter who suffered drink-fueled rage. A murder attempt on another person and a possible syndicate land sale are noted, with church land talks denied by Rev Fr Joyce OMI.
New York on Sept 12 wealth jeweller Paul Roechricht whose residence and business were in Manhattan was killed at his North Plainfield summer place by Mrs Fingerhuth during an ejectment attempt. Fingerhuth and her husband were arrested and a son held as a witness. Roechricht had employed Fingerhuth as a gardener before firing him and ordering him from the house.
The report describes Peter’s brutal attack on his brother Thomas and others, leaving John King and his wife severely hurt. Peter, 38, reportedly suffered tremens and fought police after arrest, tearing his clothes and smashing against a cell wall. The mother and father died, the scene described as horrific. Peter is currently unconscious and may die.
The White Star liner Oceanic, the largest vessel in the world, reached New York at eight this morning from Liverpool in six days and two hours. It carried 2044 people, measured 704 feet in length and registered 17 000 tons.
City Treasurer reports three parcels sold for non payment of taxes while six lots remain. George H. Stevens purchased 547 Moody street property, plus River side street and Bodwell avenue plots for totals of 191.11, 31.18, and 18.58 dollars. City schools vaccination numbers rise as most children are treated at city hall. Sewer loan approval anticipated tomorrow night to allow work to resume.
Superintendent Wadleigh told a Courier reporter that Massachusetts Mills may dispose of its Stackpole street and East Merrimack street frame buildings used by operatives. A deal was under contemplation though not yet consummated, with definite information expected later.
Fingerhuth failed to appear as ordered and fled to New York. In the afternoon his counsel, Robert M. Clark, and others forced entry into a building to confront Mrs Fingerhuth. She fired a revolver at Clark missing, then shot Roehricht in the heart. he died within minutes.
Hon John L Bates will address Middlesex North farmers at the cattle show dinner Saturday. In the evening he will be guest of the Lincoln club at its rooms in the Hildreth building. A reception will welcome the public to meet him.

They retail at 2 dollars a pair but will be sold for 1 dollar and 25 cents while available, in sizes 24% to 6% and guaranteed to wear well from A. G. Pollard & Co. Also notes the Middlesex North Fair in Lowell as a worthwhile event and quotes a remark about Labori’s wound from the Oho State Journal.
A humorous line promotes Hood's Sarsaparilla as a path to good health by purifying blood. The ad claims only one in ten has pure blood and urges others to take the tonic so they can laugh first and last.
Since 1865 Provident Life and Trust Company has offered extended insurance with cash values meeting full reserve by year ten. It allows grace periods without extra exam and charges women no more than men. Dividends paid while policy remains in force. Obert Saap, Agent, Room 38, Courier-Citizens.
The board of aldermen met with eight members present as Mayor Crowley urged restraint on expenditures. He vetoed several loan resolutions to fund clerks, street extensions, and sewer work, while supporting some appropriations. Debates covered sewer costs, the Aiken street extension, tax collection, and city foregone borrowing limits, with several resolutions and petitions referred or passed before adjournment at 10 45.
The board issued licenses for common victualers, hawkers, junk dealers, junk collectors, and express services to several individuals and firms including Samuel Smith 159 Appleton Street and Edmund Chivirie 50 Ward. Licenses revoked for Job and Express and junk dealers were announced. Leave to withdraw granted for certain common victuallers licenses. A petition to build a 20 horse stable on Second Street faced health board remonstrants and was deferred. A stable license was granted on Mammoth Road near the fire station. The Baldwin Street slaughter house issue was revisited and master plumbers licenses were approved.
Creditors of Pierre Demers receive notice from Charles B. Burns Jr referee in bankruptcy that a dividend of 83 percent on all proved claims has been declared. Peter A Fay Esq trustee directed to pay the dividend on September 19.
Luke Griffin Thomas White and John Flaherty aged 12 were arrested yesterday by Officer Libby on charges of stealing grapes from N B Barnett's vines on Third street. Also notes bicycle races at the Middlesex North Fair Thursday as the best of the season.
Edward Duval was acquitted of illegal sale of liquor after police testified seeing a man buy alcohol and Duval taking money, with a register dispute noted. The court also dealt with drunkenness cases, trespass and larceny charges, and a burglary linked to William Ferris with a $800 surety for return to superior court.
Adele Banville, about fourteen, was sent to the House of the Good Shepherd in Boston after living with a cousin in Rock Street Lowell. She left the cousin’s home with Humane Society Agent Richardson and went to the Boston facility. Her past includes time with Napoleon Michaud in Fall River and care by the Gray Nuns in Montreal. a Montreal mother allegedly lives.
Offiers and teachers held their annual social last night dropping the supper feature and laying plans to continue Sunday school work. Rally Day is set for Sunday September 24 with preparations underway. Miss Clara M Organ former YWCA secretary will speak Wednesday at 7 30 p m in YWCA rooms before sailing for India in about ten days likely the last chance for years to bid her Godspeed.
An informal reception greeted Mr C P Harlow late of Joliet and former general secretary of the Lowell Y M C A at association rooms last evening. Friends called to greet him during his brief city visit. He plans to pursue association work near Philadelphia soon.
The first mothers meeting of the season is set for Thursday Sept 14 at 3 pm. Mrs Le A Clark will lead the session at headquarters 106 Merrimack street and organizers expect a large turnout of mothers.

Ward Seven voters are urged to hear McKinley’s explanation and consider Hayes’s proven leadership.
