A revived Lowell bar gathering chaired by George W. Poore weighed forming a county legal group to plan a courthouse dedication. The county court house dedication completed by lawyers yesterday will proceed at opening of the September term of the superior court on Monday. Judge Lilley will preside. Levi S. Gould of Melrose will offer the docket and opening remarks. Then bar members and District Attorney Wier will speak, followed by a closing address by Judge Lilley.
John Carey, aged over 60, was robbed of his watch while walking across Rogers land in Belvidere at 9 this morning. Two men approached from behind, one covered his face while the other gripped his throat. Carey described them and the pair fled. Police arrested William Earle and Thomas Dever at 11 o'clock on Winter street after finding them drinking from a pail. the watch was recovered and Carey identified the suspects.
Inspectors Allen and Laflamme arrested Wilfred Mechavy for the alleged larceny of a $5 bill from Malvina Dudevoire of Willow Place Merrimack Street. Mechavy, known to visit the woman, admitted taking the money from a dress pocket and promised to return it before the complaint led to his arrest at Fletcher Street work.
In the city on September 7 at St Patrick s parochial residence Miss Kate A Tailty wed Mr Edward J Lyder per Rev Fr Burke.
Death notices report Dr John M Bailey 56 of West Billerica Sept 8 with funeral at his home and interment in Weare New Hampshire. Martha Coggin daughter of late Jacob Coggin died in Tewksbury Sept 8 with funeral Sept 12 at the Congregational church. Samuel Hoar 6, of 370 Wilder Street, died in the city Sept 10 with Advent Christian church services at 10 30 and 7 by Bld F S Knowlton.
