In Chillicothe Missouri on September 9 Prof Bozart, an aeronaut, was fatally injured when his parachute failed to open after an ascent from the fair grounds yesterday. He fell about three hundred feet and recovery is deemed impossible.
New Orleans reports from Ocean Springs Miss state one death this morning and that all physicians are now holding an autopsy. The brief bulletin notes the delay and ongoing medical review as responders assess the case.
Reports from Golden indicate a tubular well sunk to 385 feet pierced 50 feet of solid quartz where every foot shows free gold. Nuggets found were as large as several grains of wheat, suggesting rich ore in the drilled interval.

New York on September 8 John Jacob Astor’s electric launch collided with the Mary Powell in the North River near 35th Street. The launch sank. the engineer was rescued. Captain A E Anderson of the Mary Powell blamed the launch engineer for negligence. Astor arrived aboard the Nourmahal and the launch was valued at several thousand dollars.
A. G. Kempton of Farnumsville and J. M. Harvey of Woonsocket will manage the plant. The mill will employ 175 people and is practically Farnumsville’s only industry. Prints and cotton cloth will be manufactured.
Two Lawrence men attempted a bunco swindle on Lowell resident Kelley yesterday near his farm along the Lawrence road. They drove with him, flashed a wad, and used a three card monte ruse to extract funds, but Kelley refused to play and the pair departed in defeat, as Lowell may search for similar con artists.
An innovation program at Kirk Street Church will feature readings of letters detailing vacation experiences. A piece describes a field of Scotch heather in New Hampshire, seeded from Scotland, another letter covers experiences in Japan. An interesting evening is anticipated.
The juvenile and intermediate departments held their annual September outing Wednesday afternoon on the Hun toon grounds on Gorham street. Mrs. C. T. Upton and Miss Nellie A. The annual social department gathering of the Epworth League at Worthen Street M E Church took place Wednesday evening on the Fowler residence grounds in Middlesex Village. A large attendance enjoyed decorations, ice cream, and cake on the veranda as leaguers and friends mingled.
In Police Court Pickman this morning six one dollar drinks were disposed of. James W. Largy and Patrick Sullivan and Harry A Johnson and Amrlce Barnett were fined five dollars each. the four colored men were found guilty of breaking and entering Thomas Kelly pawn shop and held in $700 each to the grand jury. Charles McCarthy was sent three months to jail for neglecting his wife. Remaining cases were continued.
A reunion of Sixth regiment veterans gathered at Lakeview yesterday. Attending were Hon. Jere Crowley, Thomas O. Allen, M. V. B. Libbey, D. Moody Prescott, Col. Pinder, and Frank Calvert, with guest Col. Johnson of North Carolina, a fellow comrade and congressional aspirant.
Councilman Butler Ames announces candidacy for representative in the 27th district Republican convention. He resides in Ward 9, a district part entitled to a General Court representative in the next session.
Grafton Sept 8 The repair work on the Farnumsville cotton mill is moving quickly and operations will restart as soon as possible after a long shutdown of over a period. The plant’s revival is expected to boost local employment and economic activity.
Mrs R B Cabot of Cambridgeport Massachusetts praises Hood's Sarsaparilla as a personal physician that cured her dyspepsia and chronic cough and left her feeling revived after constant care and work. The ad warns buyers not to switch to a different remedy.

The funeral proceeded from 127 Suffolk Street to St Patrick's church where Schmidt's requiem mass was sung. Fr Leonard officiated at the mass and grave.
