Mrs McKinley watches as the President remains stable after a good night. Physicians note high temperature of 102 and pulse 110 with 24 respirations, fearing septic poisoning or peritonitis though no major change since morning bulletin. By noon, pulse climbs to 136 and temperature stays 102 with 28 respirations, in Buffalo on Sept 7.
Buffalo sept 7 secretary Wilson visited the Milburn house at 8 30 am to see the President. Secretary Root and Cortelyou came later as doctors and nurses stayed with the patient. The outlook focuses on preventing septic poisoning while X ray options are explored for locating the bullet in the back.
Traders National Bank advertises foreign exchange letters of credit travellers cheques and deposit boxes with private rooms. It serves as a US and Massachusetts depository with savings accounts paying six percent per annum compounded semi annually. Banking hours are 8 A.M. to 4 P.M. weekdays and 8 A.M. to 1 P.M. Saturdays.

Buffalo N Y Sept 7 The President slept well last night his temperature 102 pulse 110 and respiration 24. Attendants say he remains strong and hopeful for recovery though the crisis in his condition has not yet passed and the gravest danger lies ahead.
Secretary Gage departed the Milburn residence at 1.15 and Secretary Hitchcock was due at 4. He declined to detail the sickroom news beyond saying We can only trust in God, and appeared deeply moved when reporters asked for an update.
News reports detail President McKinley being shot at the Temple of Music in Buffalo by Leon Czolgosz. He suffered a chest wound and an abdominal injury, was rushed to hospital, then moved to the Milburn residence for further care, while a massive citywide response followed the attack.
The President is rallying satisfactorily and resting comfortably. At 10 15 p m temperature is 100 4 degrees, pulse 124 and respiration 24. Signed.

The physicians bulletin issued at 7 p.m. states the president was shot four hours earlier with two bullets. One grazed the upper breast bone, another penetrated the abdomen five inches below the left nipple. The stomach was opened and sutured, back wall also repaired. No other abdominal injury found. At the Expo grounds President McKinley’s condition prompted direct action by Director General W S Buchanan who rushed to Milburn to control information. Mrs McKinley rested after Niagara Falls and learned of the news from Dr Rixey, who arrived with Col Webb Hayes and prepared for the transfer to the Exposition hospital.
