Dozen Commuters Hurt In Collision In New Jersey
In Orange New Jersey today the Barnardsville express on the Delaware Lackawanna & Western railroad crashed into the rear of the Orange accommodation. A dozen commuters were injured including Mrs Henry M Dowd of Orange who lost both kneecaps and Lawrence T Fell a New York broker with an ankle sprain. The rear train had just rounded a sharp curve and the engineer could not slow. The same express previously collided with a trolley car load of school children in Newark last spring killing nine.
