Boston on October 23. Officers of the 6th infantry gathered at the South armory to discuss the Lexington rifle match of October 14. After debate over five questioned tests and weather woes, Col. Darling ruled the records would stand and the meeting adjourned with no rematch.
Springfield verdict returns Charles Alberto guilty of murder in the second degree for killing his wife Nathalie in Holyoke on September 1 1909. The scene in court was notable as Alberto kissed each juror as they filed out and he asked to speak in his defense before sentencing. He received a life imprisonment sentence.
Boston, Oct 23. Ed ward W Leavitt leather merchant of Roxbury disappeared Oct 14 from 63 Waverley street. His body was found in the Fenway near Agassiz bridge, fully dressed except hat. Medical examiner says accidental drowning or self-inflicted death likely. watch recovered. Leavitt not in best health.
The body of Minnesota Senator Cushman K. Davis arrived in Washington and was quietly buried at Arlington National Cemetery. Davis served as a Civil War lieutenant, a service that granted him burial in the national cemetery.

The body of William Wesson city employe was discovered in a Hill block bed. Bloodied clothes and pillows indicated natural death though no marks were found. Hundreds fled Temple theatre after a small flame near a moving picture machine sparked a panic in Louisville on October 23. Thirteen injured, three seriously, as crowds rushed exits from the gallery and stairs. Ushers and staff helped restore order. one child was briefly bruised when tossed toward a policeman. Lynn reports John A. McGloin aged 81 committed suicide yesterday after a crowd witnessed him swallow Paris green at the masters' headquarters on Andrew Street. He died at Lynn Hospital from heart failure after the poison was extracted. A depressed laster living at 15 Herbert Place, he had long lamented unemployment and aging. He leaves a son.

Burglars entered the home of James G. Hill on Appleton Street during Monday night stealing two watches and a small sum of money. Occupants heard noises around 9 PM and later found open back doors and a window. The burglars likely hid in the attic before escaping as police investigate.
A bureau in a tenement at Appleton and South streets caught fire shortly before 11 this forenoon. An alarm from box 24 sent firefighters who extinguished the blaze after it burned the bureau and scorched the room’s partition walls. The building, owned by John Stover and occupied by Mrs. DeBarre, suffered damage to contents. At 11:50 a still alarm sent the department to Pawtucketville for a grass fire on I. M. Chase property with no damage reported.
