In Lawrence on October 21 a four story brick block on Broadway owned by J F Bingham Manufacturing caused about 7000 in damage. The blaze began on the fourth floor in Rhodes and Moulton’s laundry now controlled by John Watts. Laundry loss over 1000. Bingham tinware stock damaged 1000. Building loss 5000. Building insured for 12090.
A Monday night birthday gathering at Mr and Mrs J H McKay residence on East Merrimack Street celebrated Miss Dolly turning 16. Six teen friends attended and presented her with an opal ring a crescent pin and several other gifts. Ice cream cake games and music completed the festive remarks.

Benjamin F Mills a well known East Cambridge insurance agent killed himself with illuminating gas last evening. His body was found in a toilet room of the Odd Fellows building on Cambridge street by Edward Fudge during a Putnam lodge of Masons meeting in the hall below. Medical examiner Swan attributed death to gas poisoning. Mills, about 40, had no Cambridge relatives but was connected with the Church of the Ascension and the New England lodge of Odd Fellows.
Dr Lorimer in Boston states he has heard of no institutional church like Tremont Temple in New York and knows nothing of a new building for a Bapt ist headquarters. He adds no influence from Mansion Avenue Church talks affected his selection during committee consultations.
