Honorary pallbearers included Justices Gray and Bancroft Davis, Navy Secretary Long, General Miles, Admiral Franklin, and others. An escort of 12 sailors guarded the remains.
A two day session of the Massachusetts Association of Free Baptist Churches opened Wednesday at the Free Baptist church in Cambridgeport with 150 delegates. President Rev. O. H. Tracy and clerk Rev. W. J. Twort presided. Speakers included Rev. G. N. Howard, Rev. Obed H. Ellis, and Rev. A. E. Wilson among others. A discussion on school excellence led by Rev. A. L. Gerrish followed the conference sermon.
Fred Hunton son of ex councilman Hunton suffered a painful accident while nailing boxes at the Lowell Bleachery. A six penny nail pierced his little finger near the end and sank to the nail head. Ambulance took him to Dr Ricker's where the nail was removed before he was returned home to 201 Appleton Street.

Mary Ella Gray Eaton wife of John P Eaton of Chelmsford and daughter of Robert and Olive A Gray died at her Golden Cove street home this morning at 5 15 o clock aged 40 years after a year of anemia and a paralytic shock five weeks ago She leaves her husband and two daughters Her father a Civil War soldier died long ago She was a native of Amherst New Hampshire Funeral services will be held at her late home Saturday at 2 o clock conducted by Rev E C Bartlett of the Central Congregational church
Let ter Carrier Henry Gray mourns the loss of his only daughter Hazel Inez Gray aged four after an eight week illness with scarlet fever diphtheria and kidney inflammation. Due to contagion the funeral was held with no formal invitations at 8 o'clock from 124 Lilley avenue, burial in the Edson family lot.

In Hadley, J Theodore Henderson and George La Ferris were fined one dollar each this morning for drunkenness. Thomas Dixon received five months in the workhouse and Michael Sullivan six months for the same offence. Thomas McCann and Wm H Curtin faced other charges with trial set for October 26.
Carrie M. Witham wife of Horace L. Witham died in Boston on October 19 at age 33. The body will be transported to Lowell for interment.
Mrs John A Osgood and Mr John A Osgood welcome Bancroft Osgood born October 19. The birth adds a new family member to the Osgood household.
Laurence J. Smith remains in the same condition with the attending physician reporting no immediate danger last night.
