Evansville Indiana October seventeenth two of the three dynamiters who blasted a Howell store safe are in hospital after fighting with locals. Henry McCarroll of Nashville Tennessee lies near death. William Dunn, Nashville, is wounded but not seriously. A third assailant is at large, Marshal Sumpter believes he was wounded.
Documents found in baggage tie Fiske Warren to Sixto Lopez. Warren, the first man to take the oath under the Philippine commission act, initially protested before landing. Inflamatory papers were located with him.

In a New York subway tunnel near 167th street and Broadway fifty tons of rock collapsed. Forty men were buried, four bodies recovered, and others feared alive in a chamber. Rescue work proceeds by tunneling around the fallen rock. foreman Owen Bly is in custody.

Judge Hadley placed him on probation after cautioning him to resist temptations. Other defendants included William Stonehouse, facing a continued case, and Michael D McNeil sent to Lowe jail for one month on unrelated charges. Bridget Sullivan was fined two dollars for spitting assault. Alice McLaughlin pleaded not guilty to drunkenness, with witnesses detailing her conduct. Charles Li. Hibba rd and Roy Richter were placed on probation for minor offenses such as troublesome behavior and stealing newspapers.
About 75 comrades attended the 28th annual reunion of the 26th regiment Massachusetts Volunteers at Post 18 G A R hall. Officers elected for the year included President Walter M. Fulton and others from Manchester, Lawrence, Somerville, Acton, and Boston. death notes listed several departed veterans.

A social event run by the Ladies' Charitable association in the vestry of Highland Congregational church Thursday night drew praise for the program and hospitality. Contributors included Mrs. Willman and Misses Heming Amy Brooks Whitelaw Hawkins Jones Sturtevant Mason Barrett Bean. The organizing committee featured Mrs. Perkins Killpatrick Wilson Boynton Fleming with waitresses Miss Hawkins Jones Sturtevant Mason Barrett Bean.
The water board held a meeting at city hall Thursday night with all members present and considered petitions. Judge Lilley asked for water on Boynton street requiring 176 feet of pipe. the petition was tabled until after a street view. A rebating of water assessment was also tabled. The board voted to purchase additional meters.
