Gagnon says he belongs in Lawrence and his mother lives on Prince Street.

Information received from Boston confirms the disappearance of Rev. Fr. Duncan Converse of the Society of St. John the Evangelist a branch of the order in Philadelphia at St Clement's church. Converse formerly served as rector succeeding Fr. Maturin who joined the Roman Catholic faith. Born in Ohio fifty five years ago he was one of two American born members of the order.
In Binghamton on October 6 Elmer K Merrill of Lowell Mass weds Edith Tallman Smith after telepathic guidance they say saved their lives and future happiness. Miss Smith who visits Ada Hayes in town had previously been urged toward a much older wealthy suitor by her parents. She remained heart and mind open to Merrill.
Washington reports the gross post office receipts for New England states and major cities for the fiscal year ending June 30 1900. Massachusetts Boston leads with 3 185 872 while state totals vary by city and state. The auditor's clerk calls receipts a barometer of national finances noting Boston's year over year rise and Boston's receipts nearly match Philadelphia's yet trail Baltimore's.
W N Philbrick, 43, a Green Mountain farmer, died after a bull he had shown at the Sullivan county fair attacked him Thursday evening in his barn. Found insensible, he recalled being thrown twice, dying at midnight. He leaves a wife and two children.

Fifteen trimmers walked off the job Friday forenoon at the American Hide and Leather company tannery known as White Bros. They accuse the firm of failing to keep promises made during the recent trouble.
The Merrimack strike ends as the Print Workers Union unanimously approves Agent Pead’s plan enabling return to work. About 450 strikers will resume duties Monday, with 450 more possible as openings appear while Greeks replacing workers may be discharged gradually. Hamilton workers also return Monday restoring harmony at both plants.
