City Messenger Frank M. Fagan and Secretary Martin J. Courtney watched the procession from a $380 window and later learned late city sports news including John L. Sullivan.
James Larkin aged 30 of 18 Varley avenue was badly injured this noon at the old Richmond mill on Lawrence street when his right arm was caught in a shaft while shifting a belt. He was taken to St. John’s hospital where amputation feared.

Dover New Hampshire October 2 Harry Hough was arraigned on charges of embezzlement from the Cocheco savings bank and the Cocheco national bank. He pleaded not guilty and was held in fifteen thousand dollars bond with no trial date set.
London reports say Canadian minister Sir J H Davies visits officials daily to map Canada’s claims while Britain and Canada negotiate. Boston October 2 Peter E McLellan a 35 year old motorman with the Boston elevated road was killed at the Lenox street car house Roxbury when he was crushed between a door and a car being shifted to the inner track He died instantly after being rushed to City hospital He lived at 100 Camden street with his family. In Chicago Bartholomew Kaost an Austrian charged with murdering his fiancee Mary Vodicka at Bremen left for Germany to face the charge with two detectives in pursuit
Deposition taken after Mrs. Mary Gaffney, wife of Edward J. Gaffney, was burned and hospitalized in St John’s. Police reported that Gaffney created a disturbance on Paige Street, returned with a lit kerosene lamp, and allegedly struck his wife, setting her clothes ablaze.
In North Chelmsford the harvest supper will be held at the Second Congregational church on Wednesday.
