In Pawtucket R. I. on November 18 a mother and her six year old son were killed when a train struck them as the mother tried to pull the child back from the tracks. The boy reportedly wandered onto the rails and remained in place as the locomotive approached.

Exeter New Hampshire November 18 Alvah Kelly of Northwood was instantly killed when a tree fell on him while he worked in dense woods. His body was found this morning.
London reports Ted Sloane won the Drakelow selling states event on Draco, securing 250 sov ereigns in the contest held today.
In Highland Hall Ward Fight Republican club supporters packed the room to back Col Bennett. Speakers including George Woodward and G A Marden urged a straight ticket, praised Bennett’s business sense, and argued taxes were too high without a clean administration.

About 100 Ward Nine Democrats met on High street to organize for the campaign. Hon John E Drury was chosen chairman and Anthony A Conway secretary. The group pledged to support Fisher H Pearson and the straight Democratic ticket for mayor and aldermen. Col C A R Dimon urged unity among Courtney Cummings Crowley and Pearson camps.

A blaze behind Heelon's stable on Gorham Street caused minor damage after an alarm from box 51 at 2 20 in the afternoon. Fire crews contained the flames with no injuries reported.
