George Bowen aged 44 died at 212 Concord street after a short illness with pneumonia. He came to this city from White River Junction Vermont as a child and leaves five children James George Jr Misses Mary Katie Ella Rowan. Sarah E Nicholson aged 18 years nine months died at 24 Riverside street. John Mahoney aged 61 died at 17 North street after a lingering illness leaving a widow two sons David and John and a daughter Nellie C. Funeral Wednesday at 9, friends invited and flowers not to be sent.

A. G. Pollard & Co advertises very fine twisted texture cashmere delaines suited for house dresses. Goods are fast colors, priced 12 a yard, with remnants offered at 8 cents a yard in basement for dresses waists and similar uses.
Nearly 200 veterans from three Grand Army posts attended the Union Memorial Day services at First Baptist Church. The program included an organ prelude, national airs, scripture, prayers, bugle calls, and Ford's sermon on unity, liberty, and the ballot. The service recalled Gettysburg and Shiloh, honored fallen comrades, and urged devotion to the Union and self government.
Memorial Day in Chelmsford followed a familiar pattern with cemetery tributes to 21 veterans and 36 Revolutionary soldiers by Comrades Perham Emerson and Parkhurst. A parade formed at the town hall including the North Chelmsford band, cavalry, and Post 185, proceeding through Bartlett Adams and South streets to the cemetery. At the common the G A R ritual was read, a band dirge played, and Lowell's Comrade Geo A Marden spoke briefly on Patriotism. A post ceremony collation and meals followed for veterans and guests, with extensive thanks to the ladies’ committee and young helpers who served refreshments.
School children of Tewksbury Centre decorated veter ans graves in a morning procession with Lowell Military Band G A R members and the High school battalion. The group formed near 9am and walked to the cemetery for exercises then gathered at the vestry hall for prayers led by Rev Elbridge Whiting. J W Grimes of Reading spoke as a quartet sang and the crowd sang America.
A town celebration followed the planned programme with a delegation from Post 120 in attendance. The town hall exercises were impressive and Rev. W. A. Bartlett delivered an eloquent oration. The audience sang America, then the services closed and dinner was served to visitors.
Worthen Street Baptist Church Sunday school held Memorial Day services at noon with an address by Comrade F. Jutler and a patriotic song by Harriet Conant.
