Man Arrested After Refusing to Move on Main Street
Sunday evening on Main Street a man and companions were ordered to move along by Officer Field. He later stood at Pearl and Main, swore at the officer, crossed the street, and was arrested when refusing to move again. In court, McDermott claimed he moved initially but waited for a Lowell car later, denied swearing, and said three girls spoke to him first. After a lengthy hearing, the respondent was discharged.

Under His Real Name the Police Have His Record
Charles Hans, now in Providence, is identified as former Lowell criminal Hans Scharlie a 25 year old German. He stole a bicycle from Rutland and Smith two years ago and served time in the Massachusetts reformatory. Inspectors linked Haas' name in papers to their former associate and say Scharlie is wanted in Manchester and Lawrence for larceny and breaking and entering.

Three Men Arrested for Larceny on Central Bridge
Law rence men Homer Dubois Joseph Lesage and Arthur Gauthier were arrested on Central bridge at 2 30 am by Lieut Palmer Sergt Connors and Officer McNabb on a charge of larceny. They hired a team from Davis of Lowell and left for Methuen promising to return, keeping the team six hours past the agreement. The Lowell police know the circumstances of the alleged larceny are unknown.

Judge Hadley Finds Bowles Guilty In Native Wine Case
Judge Hadley ruled against Clarence W. Bowles in Lowell’s native wine case this morning finding the wines fortified and not grown from Massachusetts fruit thus violating liquor laws. Bowles was fined $75 with an appeal filed. Hannah Barrows faces $800 bond after a liquor seizure. John Ouilette pleaded guilty to illegal liquor keeping and received a $75 fine plus three months in jail with an extra month for drunkenness. Co-defendant Mary Oulette was found not guilty and discharged. Ouilette left town after prior seizures of whiskey and lager found on his person and at his home last November.
