In Westford nine cows fell to tuberculosis as the state prosecutes its cattle disease battle. Quarantined for 10 days after inspection by Geo. T. Day, the cattle were killed at Fisher's slaughter house where a crowd gathered. Nine animals were infected except one. Ne smith, Flagg, Burbeck, Parker and Fisher contributed the named animals. all were tuberculin tested. The state now pays full value for cattle killed under this program.
Mrs M A Cilley announces a spring millinery opening at 27 and 31 Palmer Street in Lowell. Set for Thursday Friday and Saturday this week the event features pattern hats bonnets flowers and trimmings with a promise of style satisfaction and reasonable prices for all customers.
John Constantine of St Andrew's Bay owned the capsized sloop. Eight lives were lost in the squall a few miles off the port today. Alice Felch, wife of Abner Felch, a Boston and Maine worker at Rockingham Junction, died by overdose of morphine in a restaurant owned by her husband. She was 20 and died at Sacred Heart hospital a few hours after admission.

Sawtell and family move to Pawtucket R. I., where Mr. Sawtell is named Armour and Co. manager.
The body of Mary Walsh, who died yesterday at St John's hospital, was sent by Undertaker Davey to Bockingham Junction for burial. The funeral of Patrick, son of Patrick and Annie McGrath, proceeded from their Front Street home and was buried in the Catholic cemetery under Undertaker Davey's direction.
Mary A. McLaughlin aged 26 wife of James McLaughlin died yesterday at 28 Jewett Street. Mary Walsh aged 45 wife of Richard Walsh died yesterday afternoon at St John’s hospital.
Two death notices list McLaughlin aged 26 and Mary Walsh aged 45 dying in the city on March 29. No further details provided.
An alarm from box 288 at 5 45 am reported a fire in a Bowden street house owned by Benjamin O Hara. The blaze started in a partition and was attributed to fate. Damages were small. In a separate matter Charles F Lewis was awarded 2500 dollars in a civil action against Lowell and Reading street railway, heard before Judge Dunbar in Essex Superior Court. The Easter sale at John Street church tomorrow night opens 4 pm with 25 cent admission and 15 cents for children, including refreshments and entertainment. The Mount Vernon Street Free Baptist choir held its first meeting with about 50 attendees and will enlarge the church platform. William K Hallowell was named director and organist, and next Sunday an eight piece orchestra will assist in services.
