Chicago March 20 Judge Jesse Holden in a labor union assault case held that any man may work at any labor he chooses even if it violates union rules. He cited the principle of personal liberty guaranteed by the constitution as the core issue at stake.

Willemstad Curacao March 20 Gen. Andrade former President of Venezuela arrived from San Juan Puerto Rico. It is generally understood to indicate preparations for a serious revolutionary movement against Venezuela in connection with other partisans.
Cape Town reports Col Gorring’s force engaged Knitzinger at Cradock on the 15th. Boers suffered nine killed and seven wounded while the British forces had one killed and ten wounded in the encounter.

The Lowell textile school trustees sub committee on Building met yesterday and authorized Lockwood and Greene to finish plans and specifications for Southwick Hall and to publish bids in Boston and Lowell newspapers.
