Boston labor leaders meet with Secretary Easley of the Civic Federation as 21,000 strikers face possible wider participation. Nonunion drivers resume limited deliveries, coal and freight disruptions ease, but tensions rise with longshoremen and postal routes under strain.
The article notes no major trouble has arisen as police promptly quelled demonstrations. One man was jailed for four months for obstructing traffic, while a few assaults occurred. He chaired several firms including Pennsylvania Iron Works Otto Coke and Chemical Pittsburg Gas and Coke United Coke and Gas Hygeia Hide and Cold Storage McKeesport Gas Implements and New England Gas and Coke. He sat on the board of Allis-Chalmers and belonged to Union League Racquet Club Four in Hand Gun Club and Huntington Valley clubs. His widow is the daughter of Colonel C W Felton of California.
Plymouth March 13. Two hundred weavers at the Plymouth mills of the American Woolen Co. walked out in sympathy with Neyville mills workers at Provide Theation, following a decision from a meeting held last night. Strikers held an executive session most of the forenoon.
Reports say a Belvidere bottling concern is bottling Harvard goods in defiance of the Harvard Brewery strike. The firm allegedly viol ates the case law and uses Natl Py Workers labels while expanding into local bars. National headquarters has been advised as the strike continues with 25 plus bottlers idle and the brewery not replacing workers.
Cape Town report notes Cecil Rhodes had a restless night and it has visibly diminished his general strength as of March 13.

Spokane report says Fred Lowden was killed when a snow slide buried his cabin at Kokanee range. Chris Sherbert, who slept at the foot of the range, fought 36 hours to escape and was later rescued with frozen feet and hands. Sherbert wore only a shirt during the ordeal.

Guilford Missouri March 13 Corydon Page a lumber operator well known in this state and Massachusetts died at his Abbot home after swallowing a two ounce bottle of aconite in a personal crisis. He was found unconscious yesterday afternoon and died shortly after a physician arrived. He leaves a widow and six children. He was 52.
San Francisco reports the transport Sheridan reached port on March 13 after sailing from Manila February 16. The ship brings 6 sick, 1,189 short term men, and the headquarters of the 1st and 3rd battalions of the 20th infantry.
In Los Angeles on March 13 Edward Singleton, son of John Singleton a co owner of Yellow Aster mine at Randsburg, killed himself last night. The report states it was by his own action. Authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.
Well known Lowell figures Miles F. Brennan and J Tyler Stevens have died. Brennan, who moved to Denver for health, was born November 4, 1850 in Lowell, held leadership roles at American Bolt, Haley Brennan & Co, and served on Lowell’s Water Board and Common Council. He married Ellen Lyons, then Josephine F. Johnson, leaving a son Edward Lee and daughter Celeste J. Stevens died at his Belvidere home. details not provided.
In police court Judge Hadley scolded a crowd of visiting drinkers from Malden Methuen Biddeford and beyond. He warned they faced State Farm jail or Lowell jail terms and ordered several ten day sentences while noting a wave of out-of-town offenders.
Mr J Tyler Stevens died at 10 50 this morning at his Park and Andover home after a ten day illness from stomach cancer. Born December 20 1844 in Wire he moved to Lowell in 1875 to manage his grandfather Jonathan Tylers estate and became a leading taxpayer. A former common council member and legislator, he was active in the First Unitarian church and the Sons of the Revolution, and repeatedly vice president of the Massachusetts Republican club. He leaves wife Alice Coburn five children Tyler A Julia W Charles A Oliver and Maria plus a brother Charles E Stevens and sister Mrs James H Jolliffe. He was nephew of M T Stevens of North Andover.
