A Fargo despatch reports Mrs. Edward B. Evans formerly Jennie Lind Lewis of this city obtained a divorce and remarried to a Fargo man after a spring wedding at the Lewis home. She later joined her first husband in Fargo then was deserted.

Indictments Reported by Suffolk County Grand Jury

Boston reports reveal forty eight indictments and eighteen no bills by the Suffolk county grand jury. Principal cases include James McLean charged with assault with intent to murder John McPherson of Olean New York during a hotel dispute over a woman. Gilgeppe Festa accused of assault with intent to murder Pasquale Anneillo in a card game quarrel. Antonio Francis charged with manslaughter in the January 31 death of Giovanni Chelia.

Former Colorado Attorney General Arrested for Perjury

Cripple Creek Colorado March 8 Eugene Engley former attorney general under Gov Waite was arrested on subordination of perjury charges and released on 3000 bond. Testimony in the Kuy kendall and Lake ore theft case alleges money was offered in Engley's office to swear an alibi.

Widow Maggie Zorn Marries Rudolph Crouvan Then His Death

Baltimore report details Maggie Zorn, a 17 year old German girl, marrying Rudolph Hastings Crouvan who then disappeared. He committed suicide at the Monumental hotel leaving two letters, one to his father in Georgia and one to his wife explaining his troubles with a woman and whiskey. A prior Atlanta rumor reportedly unnamed sparked the fatal act, with boarding house resident Viereckt recounting warnings of a quarrel and threats.

Witnesses summoned for Blondin grand jury in Lowell and Chelmsford

District Officer Neal summoned witnesses in Lowell and Chelmsford Friday afternoon for the Blondin case. Chelmsford witnesses include Elmer Hildreth who found Mrs Blondin’s body Harry Greene who found her head and an ax in the woods and J Clark Osterhout. Lowell witnesses include Dr J W Meigs assistant medical examiner and others who knew Blondin in the city. Reports say Blondin never disclosed bicycle riding skill and may have traveled between Boston Chelmsford Lowell. John H Morrison senior counsel for Blondin and Jacques have been active since retained by Blondin’s Montreal friends.

Bowes Sentenced for Rape of Step-Daughter in East Cambridge

Peter J. Bowes was sentenced by Judge Bond in East Cambridge Superior Court to five to eight years in state prison for raping his 15 year old step-daughter. The victim testified of threats and coercion including a knife Bowes carried, with police uncovering the weapon. Bowes pursued the girl who sought protection in Middlesex Street. The case originated in the local police court.
