In a fog bound night collision off Anglesey the British steamer Harmonides rammed and sank the Waesland, surfacing passengers crowded the Harmonides with many rescued. two deaths reported, a Kansas steerage passenger and a 12 year old girl. Survivors landed at Liverpool and to Philadelphia later.

Mr. Roscoe G. Bachelder aged about 69 collapsed at the bung factory of A. Bachelder & Co. on Mt. Vernon street. Ambulance responded at 8:25 AM and he died en route to his home at 176 Cross street. Heart disease listed as the cause. He was from a prominent Lowell family linked to a local industry and was the brother of the late Abram Bachelder. his niece is actress Miss Julie M. Bachelder.

John Matheson aged 35 of 70 Andrews Street employed by Merrimack Croquet company was injured while using a roquet saw. He was caught in the machine and had a stick pushed through his cheek, suffering a two inch laceration. Four stitches were placed inside the lip and six outside at Emergency hospital.

Beaumont Texas March 7 The body of C B Pearson was found in the Neches river stripped to his under clothes with his head crushed. Police believe a systematic plan of robbery and murder is underway in the area. Pearson wore fine clothes and carried 50 to 100 dollars in cash. In three months four bodies have been taken from the river with violent deaths and robbery, two of which were unidentifiable and buried by the county.
