William Mannahan of this city says he killed a companion named Patrick Henry in Lawrence Massachusetts last August after a spree. Police doubt the confession and note Mannahan also attacked his wife with a revolver claiming a vision from the Lord commanded it. He was arrested and sent to the county farm as an insane asylum alumni family man with several children.
A Brookline East Boston car on the Boston Elevated railway sped down Mission Hill Roxbury crossing and crashed into the Olympia Market on Tremont street. The impact tore out 500 square feet of the front and injured 22 passengers. Motorman Thomas N. Grady and passenger Lizzie Barrett were seriously hurt. others sustained cuts and bruises. Ambulances transported the injured to city hospital while initial blame was undetermined.
Boston June 30 The transport McPherson with the first detachment of Cuban teachers arrived for the Harvard summer school and was detained at quarantine for inspection. There are 124 women and 107 men aboard. The Crook with the second detachment will arrive this afternoon. All will land at the navy yard.
The transport Oro tava, bound for South Africa with 1200 troops, returned to Southampton after a collision with the German steamer Bremen off Oshant in dense fog Friday morning. The Bremen sank in four minutes. no lives were lost.

The New York Specialty company presents a meritorious vaudeville show at Lakeview Park next week. Patrons ride a car to enjoy a varied lineup of acts, following the rising popularity of specialty theaters like Keith's and Proctor's. Mr. James Gorman of the Three Gorman Brothers compiled the acts, drawing on years of experience in selecting performers.

Albert E. Davis owner of the Davis cash grocery died at his home at 43 Agawam Street Lowell on Friday afternoon June 29. He was 58 years, 10 months and 11 days old and leaves a widow, three sons and two daughters. Surviving children include Henry Davis and John Davis, both of Lowell and Garfield Davis of Winchester. Also surviving are daughters Mrs P R Warren of Winchester and Mrs John Hardman of Lowell. Born in Cheshire England he came to the United States in 1878. A well known citizen and Pilgrim Fathers member of Lowell with many friends.
Funeral services were conducted yesterday at 173 Branch Street for Francis Perkins with Rev J M Greene officiating. A quartet sang as bearers included W. & E. Grady, Herbert Varney, Charles BE Gee, and William C. Doherty. Burial followed in Lowell cemetery.
