Joseph Lepage a 38 year old bar tender for D J Murphy died at his home on Varley Avenue after being struck in the stomach by a foul ball while watching a scrub baseball game at an East Chelmsford outing Sunday. He initially recovered but later suffered internal injuries and died after attempts at medical treatment. Lepage left a widow and five children.

She lay near death with only brief semi conscious periods, yet Hale hospital doctors say she will recover though still very weak and unable to recall events.

In a police court session Judge Hadley sentenced Mary Dwyer to six months at the work house after she protested and claimed neighbors lied. The term was suspended during six months probation with Bridgewater about 40 miles away. Susanna Marrin wept at the mention of the State farm and probation followed. Others, including Leland A. Denning and Thomas H. McMahon, received probation or related sentences as the docket noted six drunken cases.
The seventh annual convention of the New England Allied Printing Trades Council met in Spinners' hall at 10.30 am with Geo EB Ward presiding.
