Present and Future of Congregationalism Session
The Lowell Congregational Club met at High Street church after a thin turnout due to late season and bad weather. George P. Morris of The Congregationalist spoke on the denomination’s future, noting Pacific coast vigor, Southern color-line issues, internal competition, and needs for endowment, clergy education, and strengthened laity fellowship to sustain Congregationalism amid broader social and religious shifts. The club elected officers and formed new committees, with a new social committee to boost receptions. The meeting closed after thanks to musicians, the church, and volunteers.
