Joseph Monahan of Lowell was held in $2500 today for shooting Charles McElroy and for assaults on Charles Poble and William Mathewson in Olneyville about three weeks ago. Monahan acted briefly insane. his trial is set for October.

In Fall River on July 24 the print cloth market closed dull at 24 cts for 64x64s. Weekly sales reached 20 000 pieces, the lowest in 15 years. All goods sold were odds with regulars sought only at 27 16 cts, a price makers decline to move at. A further stock increase is expected despite weeklong production curtailment.
Morrison Colorado July 25 reports list the deceased from the Bear Creek canyon disaster last night as the Carey family of four the Harris family of five the Miller family of four and Robert James Proctor. No further details are available at this time.
Wakefield July 25 The glove and shirt waist factory of Rogers and Ferguson was burned this morning with a loss of 3000 dollars. The fire is thought to be incendiary.

Mrs Rose A Maxwell wife of Thomas Maxwell died at home after a brief illness. A devout churchgoer at Immaculate Conception she was a loving mother to five daughters and two sons including Beatrice Nellie Mary Fanny Thomas John. Her passing draws heartfelt sympathy from friends and family.

July 25 Police court heard Thomas Kenney confess to stealing a pair of shoes from Joseph Q. La Page’s shop at Tilden and Merrimack. He received four months in jail. Thomas Desjardins faced assault charges against Joseph Bouchard, with case continued due to Bouchard’s hospital stay. Grady paid fines for drunken assault on William Doyle. Minnie Kennedy and Margaret White faced jail or abstention penalties for drinking offences.
Work on Lakeview water wells continues after a drill break at 30 feet halted the first attempt. A second bore near by yielded water at 40 feet for cooking and drinking, while lake water will be pumped for general use. A clogged pipe end will be fitted with an elbow and perforated box to finish the system.

Police found the letter and seek Dodge, believed alive and likely with Hutchins's tool kit.
