New London July 17 The Tremont on Providence to New York sank after colliding about midnight 20 miles east of Cornfield light vessel Saybrook. City of Worcester aided. passengers and crew were saved by City of Lowell which took them to New York. The other vessel involved was the yacht Wild Duck chartered by Senator Aldrich. its bow plates were bent but it reached port under its own steam.
