Barre Vermont July 13 Mrs George Judd who was shot by her insane husband on Saturday is out of danger. Judd was captured and jailed but committed suicide by taking laudanum concealed in his clothing.
In Washington on July 13 clear skies and a northeast breeze marked the final day of the Christian Endeavor convention. The morning featured 30 prayer meetings and consecration served as the keynote of the forenoon session.

At 8 41 this morning fire bells sounded for a blaze in a restaurant at 481 Merrimack Street owned by Mrs James Vining. The interior filled with smoke and flames before responders arrived. James Jones of Main street Ayer's City was found near the engine house on Lincoln street at 2 30 Sunday morning with about six head wounds. Initial belief pointed to a knife, but Dr Ricker's view suggested he may have been kicked. He was returned home and treated with over fifteen stitches.
