Hon George F Richardson and his coachman John Hassett were traveling from the barn to the house when the horse suddenly started and swerved, throwing Hassett from the carriage. He suffered cuts to the face and head, was taken to St Johns Hospital, and spent a night there before returning home.
Little John J McIntyre a 44 months old was taken by ambulance from 866 Market Street to St. John’s Hospital after swallowing an open safety pin. The heel end entered first and the point caught in the infant’s mouth. A house doctor closed the pin and safely removed it. The baby was returned home.
From South Framingham comes word that Rev Leopold Nies, pastor of the Irving Square Methodist Episcopal church, has declined a call to St Paul M E church in the city, offering a salary of 2100 dollars yearly.

A noon telephone alarm called firemen to Edward Short’s double cottage on Ames street where a clothes closet burned. The blaze was extinguished quickly with about 75 dollars in damage. Children at the scene, playing with matches, are suspected to have started the fire in the tenement occupied by Richard Moore.

In police court this morning August Jean faced vagrancy and living without visible means of support charges. Officer Crowley found him in John Riley’s cellar at 4 Pond street seeking water. Interpreter aided as Jean claimed Holyoke origin and weaving as his trade. He said he slept in coal sheds near railroads and appeared unfamiliar with soap. The court sent him to the State farm. Annie Guinan, a repeat offender, received probation with four months in jail to honor her promises. Daniel Riley got 15 days at the workhouse. John L Sullivan, Joseph D Pelton and Richard Donnelly paid two dollar fines. One man was released.
Rev John M Greene resigns after thirty years due to ill health and Rev EB Victor Bigelow of Cohasset is chosen unanimously as his successor. Bigelow, 10 years at Cohasset Congregational, is married with one child and will attend Friday prayer meeting and preach his first sermon next Sunday.

A mayor of events in Framingham features a Y M A A social dance at the town hall with plans for a revolutionary soldiers' memorial. Attendees wore old time costumes, Dame Howe and the D A R organize, and a colonial dance plus hot turkey supper raised funds for the Warren's Corner monument project.
About 200 people attended a union farmers institute at Knights of Pythias hall under the Middlesex South Agricultural society and the Middlesex Worcester Farmers association. The funeral of Cyrus G. Beebe a Boston businessman and Wakefield benefactor was held Wednesday at the Beebe mansion Lakeside. Attended by leaders including James F. Emerson Arthur G Walton and Harvey B Evans of South Reading National Bank as well as Wakefield real estate and building association representatives and directors of Massachusetts Loan and Trust company. Rev Albert P. Davis led the service praising Beebe for his generosity and upright dealings. Singers Frances Ingraham Agnes May J L Thomas and Herbert Johnson performed as pallbearers included Beebe brothers Charles Marcus Decius Junius Fred Carpenter and others. Remains placed in receiving tomb at Lakeside cemetery.
