A new church corporation will be named the Independent Polish Roman Catholic church of Lowell. Officers include John Moyskoki president Albert W Guzek secretary and Wic eaty Bik treasurer. Trustees named Pieta Cielakrey vicz Jan Pickos John Myskosi Wiceaty Kopala Felix Wroblewski Victor Swistana Antonio Paprowisz Karol Plafstek Kazimire Konieczny. The church will be named St Cosmos and bylaws mirror the Chicago church. About 700 Polish residents live in the city.

In Providence on January 28 the Phoenix Iron Foundry at Fin and Eddy streets filed for receivership. Secretary Maurice W. Gardiner was named receiver at the request of Mrs. Susan T. Earle and Charles R. Earle, president and treasurer and largest stockholder. The voluntary action follows a morning meeting to protect stockholders and creditors. Debts total about 80000 while the plant is tax valued at 170000. dissolution and winding up were sought alongside the receiver appointment.
Monday afternoon George Felix a wagon driver in New Bedford was killed when his horse bolted and threw him against the curb severing his skull. Patrick Flynn a 35 year old driver for a wholesale dealer in Clinton was fatally injured when his wagon horse fled through Franklin Street throwing him onto the street near a catch basin.
