A man who sought aid from the Overseers of the Poor was sent to the city farm after an accident on the way. He was discharged, then halted at City Hall to return the note proving no Lowell settlement. With insufficient tax connections, only state almshouse aid remains.
Saturday event led by Miss Lottie Dempsey and Miss Ethel Paradis included cornet, mandolin, and vocal performances by several young women such as Miss Brown, Gertrude Tetley, Nellie Nevers, Foster, and Welch. George O'Brien treasurer of the Cotton Spinners' union and Miss Carrie Grant were married at St. Patrick's church by Rev Fr Burke. The 209 union members attended a reception at Spinners' hall with music by Arthur Mills John E Russell Jr and others. The couple will reside at 16 Walnut Street.
Mr. George Caron and Miss Olive Marcil wed yesterday afternoon at St. Josephs parochial residence in a small ceremony with close friends and relatives in attendance.
Funeral services for Mrs. Charlotte C. Cole were held yesterday afternoon from her Mt. Vernon street home with Rev. C. E. Fisher officiating. Bearers were Lawrence Murphy Morey and Whittemore. Burial followed in Edson cemetery under Undertaker J. B. Currier. The Apollo quartet sang at the service.
