Owen Mathews of North Wilmington was struck and killed by the 9.30 train from Boston while walking on the western division tracks near Lowell junction around 10:15 last night. The body was taken to Lawrence.

At 6 20 am a runaway horse dragging a sleigh struck Frank Ingalls on Aikens street bridge. He died 156 minutes after being found at Lakeview avenue and taken to St John’s hospital with skull fracture. Police later confirmed the victim as Frank Ingalls of 35 Farmland road.
A Boston instructor leads a fine class for young women in choral singing and sight reading next Tuesday evening. A current events study class meets Monday evening January 16 led by Miss Wilson. Embroidery on Fridays may occur if enough ladies sign up. Beginners or advanced students can inquire about French study. Register at the association.
The Lowell Mutual Fire Insurance Co held its annual meeting on Tuesday afternoon January 10. The report described the company as prosperous. James C. Abbott was re elected president Joseph Peabody was secretary and treasurer. Directors listed include Abbott Grazer Buttrick Fellows Gates Livingston Nelson Pollard Pratt Stott Wiggin and Wilder.
At the annual stock holders meeting Traders National Bank elected directors John C. Burke Michael Corbett Solomon K. Dexter Charles J. Glidden Othello C. Greenwood William F. Hillis James H. Mills Clarence H. Nelson Ava C. Russell Robert Simpson Jessee N. Trull The board organized with Charles J. Glidden as president Asa C. Russell as vice president and William F. Hills as cashier and clerk.
Police Court in Pickman held a short session today. Of four drunks, one released, one fined five dollars, while Patrick B. Paine and John Riley were sent to custody or further processing.
The record notes sentences handed down including a term in jail for one party and three months for another. Linwood Norton had a charge of illegally removing baggage continued until February 1 for further action.

Two couples were married on Monday afternoon at the residence of the Oblate Fathers on Merrimack Street. Wilbert Michaud wed Mary Louise Roy, and Thomas Moore and Delina Marcotte were also married by Rev. Fr. Nolin, O.M. Moore-Marcotte.
