W G Park, representing the Havemeyers in Duluth Minnesota, shot himself in his office Thursday evening. He was short about seven thousand dollars in his accounts, allegedly spent on betting on Dr. A Towne's election in the district. Towne was defeated. Park’s life was insured for thirty six thousand dollars. A western Havemevers manager had arrived Thursday. Park offered to settle the shortage if not arrested, but the manager refused. Park has Boston relatives.

Michael Collins of Collins mills in Dracut is critically ill with partial shock of paralysis. He retired after breakfast and was found unconscious at noon. He is now semi conscious. Collins formerly boarded at the Merrimack house and lives in Collinsville.
