Chelmsford lamp outage spurs contractor critique
In Middlesex County Chelmsford last Wednesday evening lamps were unlit as contractor Melvin Walker faced criticism. He was recalled to Boston on short notice to address the Blondin case, proving his duty extends beyond street lighting. Local coal dealer Harry L Parkhurst reports high demand from Lowell residents but cannot fulfill general orders. The Unitarian Ladies Circle met for a supper and social led by Mrs. Julia E Warren, Mrs. Bertha M Wilson, and Miss M Hodgman with readings and music. E R Marshall reportedly suffers a light pneumonia attack at his South Street home.
