Canada Fast Line Plans in Atlantic Service Debates
Ottawa reports the Dominion government will decide on a fast trans Atlantic steamship contract after Sir Wilfrid Laurier and other ministers return from Europe. No ports are chosen and no alliances exist with Allan Elder-Dempster or Furness lines. Canadian Pacific plans its own service if rejected, and aims to cut continental travel to 70 hours with a steeper road bed.
