Finest Mt. Washington season day draws 300 visitors
Mt Washington NH August 21 reports a superb ascent day with about 300 people arriving by train mountain wagons and on foot. The sky offered sunrise and sunset spectacles and the summit saw unusually warm still air with no clouds within a thousand feet. A Wellesley school group led by Edward A Benner traveled from Camp Wellesley Ossipee via Crawford Notch and Tuckerman's Ravine, ending at Dana’s Farm Jackson before returning home.
