The Gold Democrats of Massachusetts aim to nominate William L. Douglas of Brockton for governor. Douglas is reportedly reluctant, but supporters will press him. Boston hosted a leaders’ conference. J Russell Reed was named permanent chairman and Charles Warren chaired the resolutions committee. Distinguished speakers invited include John R. Fellows, Thomas J. Gargan, former Mayor Nathan Matthews, and Charles Levi Woodbury. A delegates list is being prepared for the Indianapolis convention, with a priority on attendance. The convention at horticultural hall opens next Tuesday at 11 o clock, with broad statewide representation and strong ticket sales.

Guthrie residents Fred Jeffrey aged 15 of Guthrie's court and Frank Prescott aged 14 of Central street allegedly planned a burglary at Lakeview on Monday. They are said to have stolen nearly $2 from a Guthrie court residence through a window. Prescott was arrested last night by Lieut. Ken, and Jeffrey was captured by Officers Fitzpatrick and Frank Fox.
