Washington report says the Colombian Senate rejected the Panama Canal treaty. The cable from Minister Beaupré in Bogota dated August 12 was received by the State Department announcing the decision.
Santa Barbara Aug 17 Miss Catherine Grathwol of St Paul Minn is dead Frederick Lueders an artist in Santa Barbara is a raving maniac and Fred Webster Nellie Stone Fred Gilbert Grace Porter are missing after a mountain picnic. A search party found Lueders at the foot of the grade unable to explain the disappearance of the others. Miss Grathwol 24 was staying for her health.
