Ossining N Y Aug 3 Antonio Turkowiski a Polish immigrant was executed in the electric chair at Sing Sing prison for the murder of John Shepoloski a Brooklyn saloon keeper. He proclaimed his innocence as he went to his death after being sentenced June 22. The interval between sentence and execution is reported as the state's shortest on record.
Boston reports Nashua and Jackson mills in Nashua New Hampshire will close the last week of August into early September for repairs while others, including Hamilton mills at Amesbury Massachusetts and Rus sell Cotton at Middletown and Higganum Connecticut, suspend production indefinitely due to raw cotton shortages.
