In Kane Pennsylvania on April 4 a train stopping near Johnsonburg found a man bound and set on fire among burning ties. Passengers and crew pulled him clear as his clothing burned. the victim claims his fellow tramps bound him and threw him onto the blaze to dispose of him but he refuses to name the attackers.
Knoxville April 14 The charred remains of G W Roberts of Pulaski were taken from the ruins of the Hotel Knox last night. Search continues and it is expected that other bodies will be found today. Of 52 people in the hotel only 40 have been accounted for.
Despatches from Athens report the Turkish government has informed Greece that any further raids by irregulars into Turkish territory will be treated as a declaration of war. The warning escalates regional tensions as disputes over incursions continue.
A snow slide at the Baltimore mine near Hailey Ohio on April 14 entombed two men and a boy. The mine is buried under 60 feet of snow, and rescue efforts continue.
In Wilson on the Chicago and Eastern Illinois line a posse of 25 citizens fought three robbers during a bank heist. The robbers fled after a firefight, with one wounded and two seen at Dalton later. the third is believed dead or hidden in the woods.

New London April 13 The steamer City of Lowell of the Norwich line arrived before midnight from New York after a 120 mile run in under six hours racing nearly all the way against the crack boat Priscilla of the Fall River line. The duel was among the most thrilling on the Sound.

A Barnstable despatch reports the largest codfish school ever seen in Barnstable bay with boats catching 1500 to 2500 pounds daily when weather allows. Cod prices are low and a single 2500 pound haul at South Truro sold for a lump sum of 50 dollars at Provincetown, averaging under 44 cents per pound. Fish weigh 12 to 20 pounds, with 50 pounders offshore at Truro and Wellfleet. Alewives strike in at Wellfleet Brook, 75 barrels now in the pound, and the town fishes the brook on its own account this season.
Caroline Booth identified Tuttle as the shooter in Botsford Connecticut after she said he killed her, attacked her and forced her to claim two visiting tramps did the crime. The Canadian Jubilee Singers and Imperial Orchestra performed plantation melodies in the Paige Street church last night.
