Perry Bowen Dies in Lovington After Illness
Perry Bowen a Lovington tourist court and grocery store operator died at Lea County Hospital at 5:25 AM Monday October 29 1951 after entering hospital Sunday morning. Funeral services will be in Terrell Texas with burial in Terrell cemetery. Survivors include his wife Anne Oglesby Bowen of Lovington and son Perry Bowen Jr of Garland Texas and a daughter. He was a World War II veteran and had lived in Lovington five years.

State Ends Case Against 11 One Arm Bandits
The State of New Mexico ends its case against eleven slot machines from Hobbs. Sheriff Charlie Trimble and Deputy Roy Keller destroy the machines at the junkyard after a year long raid linked to the American Legion Hall VFW Hall and the Elks Club. Six hundred twenty three dollars and fifteen cents was taken from the machines and turned over to Lea County Hospital. Max Edwards filed suit in October. Judge Roy C Anderson ordered destruction.

Funeral services were held Sunday at Immanuel Baptist for Edmond Adcock who died Friday at his Monument home. A 15 year resident and 25 year Sinclair Oil employee, he was 62. In Lovington Municipal Court a drunk in custody faced multiple fines. Evelyn Colbert paid $15 for drunkenness and a spectator baby cried for its mother.
