Ben Brannum of Midland Texas denies rumors of his divorce from Mrs Brannum as published last Thursday in the Lovington Leader. He notes a quiet title suit was settled last Tuesday in District Court while 21 divorces were granted in the same session. He says telegrams calls and letters poured in and threatens to sue the Leader for publishing the error. The publisher regrets the mistake and wishes she could offer a better excuse.

Weekend crashes push New Mexico’s annual traffic toll to 282 with two deadly incidents. In Albuquerque a 38 year old woman Jane Smith died in a truck car collision 25 miles south of Santa Fe on US 85.
