Two Wrecks Reported On Thursday
A 2% year old Jackie Don Williams was hospitalized after injuries from a 6 40 p m crash, 3 miles east of Lovington on the Denver City Highway. A 1953 Chevrolet driven by A D Morgan collided with a 1948 Ford driven by R J Williams, Morgan’s car sustaining 600 dollars in front end damage and the Ford 300 dollars in left rear fender damage. Earlier, at 4 30 p m a 1949 Pontiac driven by Patsy Lea on South Main incurred 300 dollars of right front and front end damage, while a 1949 GMC Pickup driven by Dan Tyra sustained 200 dollars in front left fender damage.

Cancer Patients May Be Treated At Ft Stanton
The State Welfare Department considers treating chest cancer at the Fort Stanton tuberculosis sanitorium. Welfare Director Alva Simpson says staff can perform surgery similar to tuberculosis care. He notes cancer is now the second leading cause of death in New Mexico, tuberculosis dropped to seventh, and state treatment would be cheaper than private care. The welfare board has discussed the plan in recent meetings.

Wreck on Artesia Road Injures Four. Moseley Hospitalized
