Two Car Crash Near REA Building In Lea County
A two car crash at the curve near the Lea County Electric Cooperative building caused badly damaged vehicles and minor injuries. Emma Louisa Wonsch 22 drove a 1953 Pontiac while Wylie Henderson Findley 55 in a 1953 Chevrolet stopped at a stop sign and pulled into her path. Wonsch's three children suffered minor injuries. Dennis Wayne 3 had a bloody nose while Jeryl 4 and Brenda 12 were uninjured. The Findley party and witnesses received minor cuts but no serious injuries were reported.

Fire broke out around 10 30 Friday evening at the G and S Service Station on Hobbs Highway. It caused considerable loss to buildings and merchandise with batteries oil and other goods ruined.
