Ebibert W. Blancett was found guilty of the murder of Clyde D. Armour near Albuquerque New Mexico last summer after a ten day trial. The defense claimed the fatal shot was accidental. Armour last seen in route to the Pacific coast with a companion who proved untrustworthy. The case uncovered telegrams sent from New Mexico under Armour's name and a financial scheme before Armour's body was found on a Glorieta ranch. Blancett attempted suicide when arrested in Friday Harbor Washington.
Governor Lindsey appoints a war committee chaired ex officio to organize agricultural resources and boost food production statewide. The panel includes one member from each of eight judicial districts and four at large, with specific appointees listed. The group will operate through the emergency and aid in legislative prep for a 4 special session.
The New Mexico battleship was launched at the New York Navy Yard as a US Seapower unit. The ceremony was private due to wartime, with Miss Margaret C. De Baca christening and Miss Virginia M Carr as maid of honor.
