The New Mexico oil and gas lease sale moves to Monday June 11 at 10 am because the Sunday date falls on a weekend. Thirty two tracts are offered sealed bid with six to be sold by oral bidding after bids are opened and awards made. John Ray Bishop Graduates From Aviation Machinist School
John Ray Bishop, airman apprentice in the USN and son of Mr. and Mrs. Ham Bishop of Lovington, completed training at the Aviation Machinist's School, U.S. Naval Air Technical Training Center in Memphis Tennessee. He transferred to Naval Air Station Alamedia California after entering service August 30 1950. He did recruit training at San Diego and is a Lovington High School graduate formerly employed by Randy Ballard.
