N. R. Carbell of Hobbs was taken to Lea County Geneva hospital by ambulance at 11:15 p m Tuesday night after an injury on the Shell oil rig Buckeye road. Carbell employed by Bob's Casing Crew of Hobbs was running casing when hurt his shoulder and suffered lacerations over the eye. The 28-year-old is married and resides in Hobbs.

A one round fight in Town Jail Tuesday night involved Everett Paul and L J Copenhagen. Paul a Tulsa man 120 pounds and Copenhagen 210 pounds faced charges after failing to pay for meals at the Lea Club. Judge Green fined Copenhagen 30 dollars for drunkenness and simple assault while Paul was fined 15 dollars for drunkenness and ordered to pay for the food.
