W. T. Lay received his new dry land plow yesterday and will set it up soon, signaling growing interest in dry farming. The article notes Lay’s potential success and urges more farmers to adopt the practice as they store 50 tons of feed for winter into spring.

The New Mexico Penitentiary annual repost notes improvements on February 15 1913 including 187 scrub chickens and 251 fowls with 64 scrub. An old stable became a fowl house at no cost and six wagons were overhauled. Fire protection expanded with 21 extinguishers and 250 feet of hose reducing insurance premiums by 280.57, more than twice the cost of extinguishers and oil house.
